Nidec Arisa participates in MHAYA Project

The MHAYA Project works towards the transformation of today’s machines into intelligent and autonomous production centers.

Seven machine tool manufacturers are joining forces in an ambitious project that aims to transform existing machines into intelligent and autonomous production centers. Last December, the Center for Industrial and Technological Development (CDTI) granted the consortium of companies led by Nicolás Correa S.A. a 4.5 million euros grant for the development of the collaborative project MHAYA.

Nidec Arisa, together with 6 other machine tool manufacturers, joins this project that aims to make a qualitative leap in the intelligent performance of the machines, as well as in their adaptability to the operator and to the changing conditions of the production environment.

The MHAYA project investigates a new generation of machines with the capacity to learn from previous experiences, as well as to anticipate modifications in their functional parameters depending on the evolutionary trend of critical functional data, managing to modify their operating conditions to increase their productivity and ensuring the maximum quality required. In case of unforeseen situations, such as tool breakage, they will be prepared to be able to act autonomously to prevent further damage.

Seven brands, international leaders in solutions for forming, machining, grinding and non-conventional production processes come together to shape this ambitious project. Nicolás Correa, Nidec Arisa, Danobat, Ibarmia, M. Torres, Ona and Zayer, together with ATS-Global, a leading provider of software solutions for digital transformation, Tecnalia and the Universities of Burgos and the Basque Country complete the team. The total budget of the project amounts to €6,744,249 million and the project will run from 2022-2025.
