Forging the Future Since 1940

Dedicated to the design and manufacture of presses, servo presses, and automation systems, primarily for the automation sector. Nidec Arisa has spent over eight decades focused on engineering and developing solutions for the most demanding materials in the market. What ARISA is today stems from the entrepreneurial efforts once undertaken by three founding partners.

Anatolio and Melquiades Ariznavarreta, together with Gabriel Aisa, founded ARISA in 1940. This was in an extremely challenging context: a Spain devastated by war, lacking resources and technology. Even so, they committed to innovation and engineering, specializing in the manufacturing of mechanical presses.

During the 1950s, as Spain’s economy began to open up, ARISA made a technological leap by incorporating automatic feeding systems and expanding its facilities to meet growing demand.

The arrival of the automotive industry in Spain posed a major challenge, which the company met with advanced solutions, becoming a supplier to manufacturers such as SEAT and later General Motors. In the following decades, ARISA continued to grow, incorporating electronics, numerical control, and CAD, and developing new technologies such as transfer presses and the Link-Drive system. International expansion followed, with exports to Europe and the Americas.

In 2009, amid a global economic crisis, ARISA once again innovated by developing its first servo press, a revolution in efficiency and precision. Today, with over 85 years of history, we continue to lead the sector with the same passion for technology and commitment to our clients that has guided us from the very beginning.

A New Chapter: NIDEC ARISA

In 2015, ARISA joined the Japanese group NIDEC CORPORATION. This integration marked a decisive step toward globalization and access to new markets and capabilities. Just one year later, in 2016, construction began on a new 29,000 m² facility in Navarrete, La Rioja (SPAIN), equipped with cutting-edge technology: buildings with 18-meter clearance under the crane, 150-ton cranes, and machinery capable of handling parts up to 12 meters in length. This infrastructure enables the manufacturing of some of the largest presses in the world.

Today, NIDEC ARISA employs nearly 300 people, including more than 60 engineers, with an annual turnover of approximately 85 million euros, and exports over 80% of its production worldwide. In recent years, engineering developments adapted to new mobility realities have positioned Nidec ARISA at the forefront of the automotive sector.Leader in design and manufacturing of presses and automation systems for the automotive market. We innovate and develop complete solutions for the most demanding requirements, regardless of size, strength or material thickness. Bodywork, motors, batteries, and hydrogen cells, are just a part of the long list of components that our pressroom equipment can produce.
